Cosplay Progress update! 

So these are the unfinished masters for Vriska’s wing frame, Sollux & Feferi/Meenah’s horns, and a set of teeny tiny Tavros horns for one of my dolls. Vriska’s horns are on another board in my living room, but they’ll be getting a foamed too.

I’m adapting my normal armor making process to making horns and the frame, so I’m crossing my fingers that this is even going to work. I’ll be spraying the forms down with expanding insulation foam and then carving them into the right shapes. Because this particular brand is known for sealing the can shut after use I needed to wait until I had a lot of things to spray so there’s lots to do today.

blue vriska??

Yeah so the paint mom got me for Christmas goes waaaaaaaay blue when photographed. Gonna have to find a different color…  maybe the one I actually asked for? Apparently they were out of stock or some such thing so she got the “next best”.

Anyways, post #3000 is my color test with my shitty temp horns. Gonna pick up some foam to make the real masters tomorrow. 

Eyeliner makes for some pretty rad lipsticks.

so hey this is my very first animation

I don’t really know what I was doing, both in regards to what I was drawing and how I was going about it. I did learn a whole bunch of stuff, so hopefully I’ve got every most things nailed down for that Homestuck project that I’m supposed to be doing for Wazy so her fans will get off her back :3

anyways, Rose turning into Vriska for no particular reason

So this is my as yet unstyled Vriska wig. It was not originally intended to be a Vriska wig (I bought it for a costume that I was going to wear to Otafest last year and still remains unfinished), which means it has auburn streaks in it. Very large very visible auburn streaks that my webcam fails to pick up. I’ve got a plan for that, so they don’t really matter.

Because I wanted to see how it looked with the orange fabric, I donned my God Tier Rose costume. Then I realized that aside from that one picture Mouse posted, there aren’t any pictures of me in my Rose costume. So off came the wig, on went the lipstick aaaaaaand

the proof of concept for the flapping system works!!

unfortunately, as it’s made out of tape, cardboard, and old rusty nails, it doesn’t stay together for much longer than about ten flaps. I’m off to go pick up some kids construction kits so I have some more sturdy pieces and joints.

Dad’s also suggested that I drill holes in Popsicle sticks (obviously he doesn’t remember my last misadventure with them), or pick up some plastic to cut and shape to the right sizes. Apparently he was thinking about this and nothing but this from 2am to 4am today.

He’s surprisingly gung-ho for this project. It almost makes me wish I’d told him about it sooner than last night at dinner.
