ah the old gloves. That I can only get on one hand because the cuff is made out of fucking model magic clay and has shrunk way too much to get my hand into on the other one.
…these are the same gloves that I glued to myself that one time. Honestly I’m surprised they’ve held up so well given how many years they’ve spent in a bag in the bottom of a closet.
Things that amuse me way more than they should.
My two costumes for this year:
Hitmanstuck Dirk and Genderswapped Godot.
They are practically the exact same costume, just in different colors.
My kind of half-assed attempt at playing Sasha Kaidonovsky for our teeny-tiny meet up today. The hardest part was not raking my hands through it every five minutes. It feels backwards when it’s like this.
I usually look a bit more like Raleigh in the hair department…

Alright! First attempt at sewing the Batgirl costume will be tomorrow!
I have to pick up some more velux (I don’t have as much as I thought I did) to make the purple parts have their ridge detail, and some not-serger-thread for the actually sewing part. Oh, and some yellow material for the thigh band as unlike with the utility belt, I don’t conveniently have pouches of the right size and shape laying around the house.
I’m glad I bought extra material because I’m kind of terrified.
(also I think I need to redo the cape, but we’ll see once I have things straightened out)
this is the latest attempt at Red X’s helmet. my lines are super lopsided right now, but they aren’t the actual guidelines I’ll be using. this was just to get a general feel for sizing/positioning.
I’ve still got a bit of carving to get the right shape, as his helmet is a little goofy at the front (mostly that’s the animation style but I also liked it sooooo), and then there is sanding, filling, and then getting the catches on the back to fit properly so I can take it on and off all before I can even think about cutting the eyes out, sealing it and starting the paint job.
Lots of work ahead of me.
(and I still have to finish the cape and utility belt)
(also those are my almost finished batgirl shoes. just gotta put the bat symbol on and lace ‘em up)

Did an inventory of fabrics and things I already have on hand for my Akemi Homura costume.
I have a fabric that is almost that exact shade of purple.
I have a long dark purple wig that I could get away with tinting just to make it a little more black than purple.
I have stockings and shoes that will work, and even already have the patterns for it.
I shouldn’t say this is going to be easy, but…
at least it’ll be cheap :3
