I want to open commissions, because I’m about to have a whole bunch of medical type bills to pay and I really don’t want to lean on my dad for money

but the last few times I’ve tried no one has wanted my art

so it’s like

why bother

except that money is a thing that I need

dammit

How to find out who your REAL patron troll is!

I’m here to tell you how to find your ~ACTUAL~ patron troll!
John Egbert was born April 13th, which actually makes him an Aries. But Aradia isn’t his patron troll, it’s Vriska.
Here’s why~
April is the 4th month of the year, thus making his birthday 4-13 in those number date things.
Then, you smoosh all the numbers together, and create the number we all know and love! 413! Now put addition signs between each of the numbers. 4+1+3= 8. WOOOAHHH. Who’s the 8th sign in the Zodiac? VRISKA. Woah man!

Next, Jade!
Her birthday is December 1st. Which is 12-2. And together 121. 1+2+2= 4. Who’s the fourth sign in the Zodiac? Cancer!! Thus Jade’s patron troll is Karkat.
Rose:
December 3rd. 12-3. 123. 1+2+3= 6. Virgo is the sixth sign in the Zodiac. Thus, Kanaya is Rose’s patron troll.
Dave:
Dave:
December 4th. 12-4. 124. 1+2+4= 7. Libra is the seventh sign in the Zodiac. Thus, Terezi is Dave’s patron troll.
Woah man, did I just blow your mind? I hope so.
This also helps me remember all the kid’s birthdays.
Anyway, another example. My birthday is September 21, so 9-21, 921, 9+2+1=12. Thus my patron is Feferi.
Another note, you may get an answer OVER 12! Do not fret, the next step is pulling up your calculator and dividing the sum by 12. If the product is 1.5 or less, your patron is Aradia. If it’s 1.6 or higher, it’s Tavros. (At least, these are guidelines I go by.)
Anywayyy, thanks for reading. Just, the whole “I’m a Virgo thus my patron is Kanaya” thing is one of my pet peeves!
And for your reference:
1 – Aradia
2 – Tavros
3 – Sollux
4 – Karkat
5 – Nepeta
6 – Kanaya
7 – Terezi
8 – Vriska
9 – Equius
10 – Gamzee
11 – Eridan
12 – Feferi

I am more than okay with who I got.

Welp my mind just blew up

I’M STILL FEFERI YEAH

SOLLUX

using this method, Waz and I just switched patron trolls. I get to be Nepeta while she’s Terezi. How amusing.

a lot of the time I don’t go out and do things with people because I always feel like the third or fifth or whatever wheel. Like… everyone is couples.

and here I am, too emotionally unstable to be able to form any kind of lasting relationship

It’s more than feeling like the odd man out.

it’s feeling like I’m only invited/brought along out of pity.

An Anthropological Experiment: Crowdfunding

There was a family in the newspaper this morning who have fallen on hard times due to medical problems for their nine-month old son. As it was my father and I reading this article, we got onto the topic of better ways to fund their lives than depending on EI/the government for money, and we started talking about “Crowdfunding”, or the practice of going onto the internet and setting up money drives to deal with health expenses, issues of homelessness, unexpected bills, trips across the world to see loved ones, and the two most infamous stories I know of: the Tropes Vs Women in Games videos, and the Homestuck Video Game. Dad brought up the gent in America who raised all that money for the lady who was bullied by the kids on her bus.

We don’t know how to get in contact with the family in the newspaper, otherwise we’d straight up tell them to get onto the internet and start a drive for their son, but something else came to mind. As a student of anthropology (technically speaking, although I haven’t been back to school in a couple years now, I only have a year left of my Bachelors) the idea of running a social experiment on how crowdfunding works tickled my fancy.

I’ve still got to set everything up, and start working on a proper premise, but the idea is this:

Can I get one million people to give me one dollar?

In the interest of truth and visibility, I will admit that the first ten grand would be used to pay off my car. The rest of it, the ninety thousand dollars, would go to Misha Collin’s charity Random Acts. In the case that I don’t even make 10 grand, whatever money is made would go to charity.

Now I’d thought about going on Kickstarter to protect you, the backers, but there are two problems with that: Kickstarter doesn’t support Canadian projects, and Kickstarter doesn’t support charity drives.

If anyone knows of other sites like that that do support charity and Canadian projects, I’d love to hear from you.

Thanks 🙂

oh my god

I am getting so frustrated with trying to explain to this girl that the reason we can’t cast her in a part meant for a woman of color is because she is whiter than freshly fallen snow. We are not budging on this. When we decided to do this project, that was the first thing we all agreed on.

MCU Nick Fury is a black man. Therefore our genderbent Nicole Fury is a black woman. The end. No ifs, no ands, no but in 616. This is the Cinematic Universe. We are essentially genderbending Samuel L. Jackson.

AND

YOU

ARE

WHITE.

If anyone has any ideas on how to explain this that doesn’t involve beating her with a newpaper and shouting “bad puppy!” until she either keels over or miracle of miracles gets it, I’m all ears.
