I finally put Spyral back together.

It’s been six months since the last time I posted a picture of her and she’s spent those entire six months sitting in pieces on my mother’s desk because she didn’t want Spy sitting on top of the entertainment center anymore. This of course means that mom has been harassing me to seal and string her and get her out of the way.

Mom wouldn’t touch her the entire time because she is terrified that she’ll drop and break something. The last picture is because I’m a dick and I want to see how long it takes her to notice that Spy’s been restrung.

While this is not my first attempt at painting a doll, it is my first SUCCESSFUL attempt. Her design is based off of the Kaiju in Pacific Rim. I may go back and add some pale green and white dabbing to her neck and the inside of her wings to go for the impression of glowing, but for now I am quite pleased with how she came out.

I may have to make her a crown of spikes and horns to give her a more monstrous look, as her old wig definitely won’t look good with this paint.

She’s here!!

So I kept flip-flopping between whether or not she would be a she or a he, but mom gave her a gender when I opened the box— “Where are her feet?!“— so she is now a she.

But Pyral doesn’t sound like the right name anymore. I got a good look at her and it just… doesn’t fit. It’s like how “Colin” became “Tavbro” upon opening his box, but this time I can’t think of a name :/

Anyways, for those who don’t know my new girl is a Resinsoul Pixiu. She is strung super tightly, which is quite the change after Ehmy’s so-loose-she-collapses stringing and Potpourri’s almost-perfect-it’s-just-that-one-loose-leg stringing. The magnets to hold her wings in place are pretty good, though the tail could be a bit stronger.

Overall, I’m happy.

(God I love her eyes. They’re so blue!)
