Amelia is half way to her parents’ home in the car the Winchesters stole for her when she stops. The night is silent and cold around them, and Amelia’s hands tremble on the steering wheel. She doesn’t look at the ghost sitting in the passenger seat; right now it’s still too soon to be able to look at that blank look on Claire’s face and understand.

She wants to rage and scream and howl at Jimmy, but he’s not here. All that remains is their daughter, looking more broken from a ten minute possession than she has any right to be. Jimmy will not see this. Jimmy will never see this, and in a way that is just as heartbreaking as the shadow in Claire’s eyes.
