I’ve seen a few people complaining about issues with their tracked tags lately. Just thought I’d share some things I’ve learned/discovered as to why you might be having issues.
- If you have no followers, anything you tag WILL NOT show up in the tag. You need at least one.
- Only the FIRST FIVE tags on a post show up in a tracked tag. #One shows up. #so does two #I’m number three! #number four mambos it’s way through the tag #and number five is the cut off #so if you’re going to tag hate #make it tags 6 and up #so we don’t have to see it.
- If you are tracking 20 tags, you get all your notifs.
- If you are tracking 21 or more, you get no notifs.
- Only the first post of a thread will appear in a tag
- Sometimes tumblr glitches and will show a +1 when something has been reblogged. It won’t actually show in the tag.
- If you go on a tag and tumblr refuses to acknowledge that you’ve seen the new posts, just untrack and retrack. Sometimes that even refreshes so you can see a “hidden” post.
- Hyphens DO NOT track! Most folks track their urls without hyphens or spaces.
