This is the closest Spy’s been to being in one piece in months. She’s been in pieces on top of the entertainment center because I didn’t like the way the previous attempt to paint her had been turning out. I didn’t actually finish it— I had her legs and torso done.

And then it struck me today.

A certain someone is afraid that my dolls are going to come alive, somehow get out of my house, into my car, drive twenty minutes to her place, manage to break into her house, dodge the cats and kill her in her sleep. So why not go the extra distance and make Spy look like other killy things?

And since I am a fan of all things Pacific Rim, I decided to run with her dragon appearance and turn her into a Kaiju. Hilariously, Spy is my smallest doll. Unless you’re counting Tav, but if Tav actually had a body he’d be the tallest.

She’s still in progress; it’s two in the morning and I want to sleep, so I’ll be sealing her tomorrow and then adding the final layer of scales and a detail layer so that she looks like she’s got a bit of a glow to her.

The only part of her I didn’t do was her face-up; that’s just the basic face-up that resinsoul gave her.
